PERM - Rolling Stock/Locomotive Production Supervisor based in Loughborough

£32,500 basic salary (to be reviewed 1st April) + Overtime + Pension

Basic weekly hours - 37.5 pw

Must be prepared work shifts as and when required – shift premium payable on Afternoons and Nightshift.

Areas of Responsibility include:-

Maintain a safe working environment and comply with health and safety requirements
Assist in identifying material requirements, shortages, and non-compliances
Actively promote 5S, QPS and continuous improvement activities to increase productivity and efficiency.
Supervise staff to ensure compliance with both Customer and Company procedures, including the effective control of staff in accordance with the Company’s disciplinary procedures, attendance at work, and appropriate conduct.
Perform daily briefings, production meetings and instruction of staff to meet targets
Communicate professionally with Customer’s representatives and internal project management on a daily basis.
Attend and report to project meetings as and when required both internally and externally.
Recording manpower allocations against work produced
Ability to be deployed in any work area on site or occasional off site visits as required.
Identification and implementation of training and maintenance of staff competence.
Production, communication, and implementation of production plans
Contribute to Company tendering activities
Ensure holidays are planned in line with departmental workload
Perform any other duties as appropriate within the individual’s skill and competencies.

Desirable requirements for the position include:-

At least 3 years’ experience as a Production Lead in a fast moving Production environment.
A flexible approach to working hours and practices.
High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
Experience of working with and managing a team of people.
Experience of Locomotive and passenger vehicle build and overhaul.
Ability to work as an individual or within a team
