We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager who will be working on a large scale rail project in London and is embedded in a variety of departments

The Principal Accountabilities of the Assistant Project Manager (Rail) will be as follows:

• Making day-to-day decisions around project issues
• Managing the collection and collation of data
• Researching alternatives to current methods and suggesting opportunities for continuous improvement to project management processes
• Analysis of data and making decisions where appropriate or providing recommendations
• Identifying and escalating best practice and risk management suggestions
• Maximising effectiveness of day-to-day relationship with operational colleagues
• Prepare performance/progress reports for both internal and external reviews
• The job holder will be expected to successfully manage his / her team undertaking all relevant line management activities, such as performance management and review, attendance management and overseeing the team's career development.

The Knowledge, Skill & Experience expected of the Assistant Project Manager (Rail) are as follows:

• Experience of working on contracts/projects in a commercial environment particularly relating to projects of £500k+ in value (either as an individual or as a member of a team with specific areas of responsibility)
• Experience of building effective working relations with people at all levels across an organisation and externally
• Knowledge and understanding of contractual issues in a project environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of financial control and procurement processes and techniques.
• Degree in (for example) business, engineering, or equivalent, is desirable.
• Awareness of safety issues in an operating railway environment, is desirable
• Ability to analyse complex data, draw conclusions and produce reports

This role is working in the public sector and as such the contract will be set up on a PAYE or Umbrella basis only. Limited companies or PSC's will not be permitted.
