Assistant Project Manager in Peterborough, United Kingdom

As an Assistant Manager you will be required to take instructions from and support the Project Manager as well as supporting the project delivery manager of one or more projects through the design and delivery of assets.

This will include ensuring that the projects are correctly scoped, deliverables are clearly communicated and key parameters of cost, time and quality are measured, reported against and action taken to mitigate deficiencies.

You will also need to support the Project Manager in meetings and the report on performance in accordance with the reporting standards and timescales, rectifying deficiencies in deliverables, and be able to liaise and work with the DIO Commercial and Procurement teams to assist the Project Manager to deliver the projects within the agreed project parameters.

This will include specific tasks such as;

• Support the change control on projects and the validation accuracy of monthly AfP’s in agreement with DIO Commercial Managers.

• Liaise with the UIP Programme CDM Representative and act upon advice provided.

• Physically reviewing all sites/locations to guide and advise on design and delivery solutions.

• Work with the PSP Technical Leads and Technical Authority Advisor to supply chain teams to ensure that the most appropriate design solutions are identified.

• Support the Project Manager with design option workshops to seek the most appropriate solution for assets and solutions.

• Work with the NEC Supervisors to ensure that the necessary quality and CDM standards are met and making sure that deficiencies are rectified

• Attend UIP team and project reporting meetings, and support the Project Manager with the Issuing of reports as necessary e.g. Monthly reports, Local Base Team, TAA / Design Team weekly meetings (as required).

• Work with the Project Manager in assessing the level of resources in design/ supply chain teams and actively work with them to provide the necessary level of competence.

• Support the Project Manager in administering Framework contracts.

• Identify and address project risk, issue Briefings, Project Reports and support for Cabinet Reports.

• Assist the Project Manager in the production of change control requests on individual assets within each work package and administering the process from initiation to final sign-off.

• Work with the NEC Supervisors to ensure that the necessary quality and CDM standards are met and making sure that deficiencies are rectified

• Review documentation and report to PM on the completeness and deficiencies that require rectification. This will include but not limited to: contractor programmes, CPP’s, Quality Plans, Environmental Plans and Consents, Stakeholder management plans / Communication Plans

• Assist the PM in the issuance of Project Managers Correspondence, Project Managers Instruction, Early Warning’s, and relevant documentation in terms of upload and monitoring of usage and actions.

Requirements :

PRINCE2 or recognised PM qualification

SC level security clearance

3 years PM Experience in Infrastructure Capital works or similar

Capable IT operator including experience with OFFICE suit of tools inc Excel proficiency.

MOD / DIO / USVF Experience Desirable
