Associate - Progamme / Senior Project Manager - Perm - Consultancy based in London
Job Overview-
The opportunities for project and programme management work in the rail sector have increased significantly over the last 12 months and workload is outstripping available resources. This market situation is stable, with the prospect of becoming busier in the next 12 months.
The rail business in PPM South is forecasting to outperform against the 17/18 business plan target, and to sustain this growth in 18/19. In order to maintain coverage of ongoing projects, PPM South are seeking an immediate recruitment of a G7 Rail specialist with the right skills and experience to work in a client facing environment on rail infrastructure projects, particularly related to NR / LUL work.
Person Specification and Experience:
* Professional qualification in project management, such as the APM Registered Project Professional.
* An engineering or Rail discipline or possess suitable experience in lieu of qualification.
* Strong, proven capability in successful project, programme or portfolio management of complex schemes, especially during their development phase.
* Experience of successful delivery in the energy sector of complex and challenging projects from a professional programme & project management (client facing) perspective to time, cost and quality objectives.
* Experience of working in an Rail / Infrastructure sector client/developer organisation.
* Proven track record in winning the work for themselves and their team, and delivering a high value programme or portfolio management service to the client (or demonstrable transferrable skills and experience).
* Experience in the new and developing areas of Rail consultancy work in the UK.
* Proven capability in creating business proposals to pitch to clients, by drawing together the relevant technical expertise from across a multi-disciplinary firm.
* Strong commercial awareness of a client's business drivers and the business case for change programmes.
* Familiar with reporting to and at project boards.
* Experience of working as part of multi-company partnerships is desirable.

- Able to advise the client on delivery strategy and outline business case.
- Ensures the team works in accordance with all regulatory standards
- Sets main contract procurement strategy for the client and oversees the procurement process
- Oversees the administration of the construction and professional services contracts on behalf of the client
- Manages procedures to ensure the programme delivers the required quality at all stages of the project

- London
- Some work outside normal office hours may be necessary.
- Travel to and from client sites /or temporary assignments to client's offices may also be required.
- There will be opportunities for international travel and applicants with a desire for non-UK based assignments will be welcomed.
