Our UK Team continues to add to their impressive list of project awards and recent successes have seen them secure some of the UK’s most high profile, complex and stimulating projects to complement their existing portfolio of works.

As a result of this continuing success, we are now keen to recruit a Senior Project Manager to be based in one of our London offices. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and successful team. Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Demonstrably successful experience in delivering projects on time and within budget
  • 5+ years’ supply side experience delivering complex capital delivery projects, rail infrastructure sector essential
  • Tenacious, can do and energetic orientation with high levels of ownership
  • Able to build credible, collaborative but influential (and suitably challenging) relationships with a range of clients
  • 3+ years’ experience in managing and integrating in-house and external design management resource
  • First class cost management capability - planned and recovery phases (process best practice and supporting soft skills)
  • First class schedule and progress management capability – planned and recovery phases (process best practice and supporting soft skills)
  • Accomplished commercial acumen, ideally with NEC contract knowledge, readily able to understand contracted scope and identify change is strongly desirable
  • Strong technical aptitude with experience in civils and more than one railway systems disciplines (at ATD level)
  • Effective safety leader (knowledgeable, authentic and engaging), ideally with trackside and/or construction site experience
  • Able to lead and build happy and cohesive teams while maximising performance
  • Actively identifies and/or embeds both innovation and continuous improvement
  • Able to improve develop their direct reports and wider colleagues through structured and effective personal coaching and reinforcing process and outcome accountabilities
  • Contractor facing experience highly desirable
  • Readily able to operate as part of wider Rail and business management teams, including looking for cross project synergies and proactively driving a learning culture (with strategic and operational contexts) High potential for promotion with 18 months
  • Successful pre-bid and bid experience is desirable
  • Familiar with quality assurance best practice
  • Able to effectively implements project delivery best practice in most of the following areas: risk and change management, planning, project controls, project set-up, common date environments (including BIM and doc control)
  • Readily able to operate in a D&E consultancy environment is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communications and ability to build influential relationships within Arcadis, its partners and its supplier chain
  • Equally able to manage a small number of large projects or a portfolio/framework of small deliveries

Desirable:

  • Readily able to operate in a D&E consultancy environment
  • Contractor facing experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in managing and integrating in-house and external design management resource
