Samuel Knight Rail are currently recruiting for a Contractors Engineering Manager for a multi-disciplinary Rail consultancy based in Birmingham, seeking a CEM with experience in delivering projects covering Civils, Electrification & Signalling.

Our client are keen to speak to candidates with experience of managing a team of circa 15 engineering staff covering Design, Project & Site Engineering. Although we are recruiting for a consultancy, we would be interested in speaking with candidates who have experience of close contact with Construction divisions on a live build project.

Our client have a portfolio of work on existing UK infrastructure, and have recently been awarded major works in the South of England, and the Northern Powerhouse.

We are looking to speak to candidates with over 3 years’ experience as an Engineering Manager, preferably with a CEM sign off.

Key requirements of the role are:

• Engineering Management of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
• Specialism in either Civils, Signalling or OLE
• Previous approval as Network Rail CEM is very advantageous
• Experienced and capable in front of client and delivery contractors

Our client are able to consider both permanent and freelance applicants, with flexibility in salaries / day rates to match your experience.

We require candidates in Birmingham ideally but can consider candidates in other areas of the country too – including some option to work from home after settling in to the company.
