COINS Commercial Project Manager

12 months Fixed Term Contract

Location: Stafford

Salary -60000 GBP per Year

Description of role

  • To become a part of the existing COINS project team delivering the successful completion of the COINS implementation within the business. Existing CVR, Materials, Subcontract and Overhead Procurement (P1)
  • Learn current business and COINS processes
  • Learn the background COINS configuration architecture
  • Work on refining and embedding Commercial best practice (with the Best Practice Group)
  • Work on refining training materials
  • Work on defining future training requirements - existing and new starters (with IT trainers)
  • Define any required changes to COINS configuration and submit to the Change Control Board
  • Define any required software enhancements and submit to the Change Control Board Implementation of BoQ Oversee the design, build, testing, training and implementation of COINS BoQ - along with the COINS project team and regional Super users
  • Work with Group Procurement on group procurement pricing and define how it will be managed in COINS BoQ
  • Develop standard house type bills for the new house type range
  • Develop standard house type bill variants
  • Other Day to day support of Commercial COINS users
  • Liaison with COINS consultants regarding issues
  • Attend the COINS Project Control Group
  • Coordinate the activities of the Commercial Best Practice Group
  • Coordinate the activities of the regional Commercial Super users
  • Define any reports development requirements - work with Steve Kent on development, testing and implementation of new reports/dashboards
  • Work on continued refinement of user access/security/buyer limits
  • Work on refinement of COINS menu structures
  • Work on implementation of COINS desktop
  • Assist with the COINS upgrade testing
  • Test and implement any new COINS functionality available after the upgrade - notably the CVR Site Overheads functionality


Person Specification


Education, training or qualifications

  • Degree in Commercial, Surveying or other desirable..
  • CSCS Card.

Relevant experience

  • COINS knowledge essential
  • Experience working within a residential house builder.
  • A good understanding or building regulations and legal obligations.
  • A good knowledge or construction methods and materials.
  • Experience or people management and project leading.
  • Delivers result in terms of financial performances of projects.

Special skills or knowledge

  • Strong mathematical and IT ability
  • Ability to assess and analyse information.
  • Good business sense.
  • Good understanding of budget management.

Negotiating and networking skills.

  • Contractual experience Interpersonal skills and attitude
  • Excellent communications skills.
