Designated Project Engineer
My client, a major Rail organisation, is looking for a Rail Designated Project Engineer to join them on an initial 6-month contract.
The role of the Designated Project Engineer will be the technical lead ensuring that all Network Rail Standards and design calculations are checked and approved to meet criteria. Due to the nature of the programme, work scopes vary in complexity ranging from small upgrade works through to major build schemes. Also, it will be key to liaise with external design contractors and attend regular site visits across the network.
This is an exciting opportunity for an interim to join a well-known name in the industry that has a wealth of experience working on rail civil schemes.
Key responsibilities:
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Designated Project Engineer (DPE)
- Main technical interface with contractors (delivery and design)
- Assess and review calculations for temporary and fixed structures
- Undertake DPE duties in accordance with Network Rail standards
- Experience of design principles and reviewing methods
Qualifications:
- Civil Chartered status –Essential
