Role: Environmental Planner + Project Manager (Offshore Wind + Energy)

I am looking to place a Project Manager / Environmental Manager with experience of producing Development Consent Orders in the Offshore Wind industry. This role is with an international engineering consultancy which has been in operation for over a century and is a global force within multidisciplinary engineering services. The firm are open with regards to locations as they have numerous offices across the UK in reach of most major cities.
Initially, you will cover the Norfolk Boreas, which is a 1.8-gigawatt development located more than 73km from the Norfolk Coast, not even visible from land. This is a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) under the Planning Act 2008, meaning your first project will be one of major importance to the UK as a whole, ensuring a sustainable supply of energy to the country. Further projects on this sort of scale will follow.
The firm are looking for an Environmental Consultant/Planner with Project Management capabilities who has the experience to feed into and develop the Development Consent Orders (DCOs) for projects on this scale covering this and other renewable energy projects. You will have the experience and skills to take the lead of environmental permitting projects across the UK, supporting the current team and growing your own.
Ideally, the firm are looking for someone who has relevant education and experience within Environmentalism / Environmental Science or straight EIA consultancy, with any professional accreditations a desirable bonus. Any experience or qualifications within Project Management would also be desirable, though the firm has a wide variety of training programmes design to upskill candidates in this area.
Due to the international and collaborative nature of many Coastal and Offshore Wind Farm projects, there will be the opportunity for international work for those that are interested.

Job Requirements
Essential
- Relevant experience within Environmental Permitting / Development Consent Orders (DCOs)
- Relevant experience within OWF, Nuclear, other Renewable Energy
- Relevant education within Environmentalism, Environmental Science, Ecology, EIA or similar
- Experience within Project Management
- Qualifications/Accreditations within Project Management
- Experience/willingness to work collaboratively with international teams or personally undertake international work
- Membership with relevant environmental body i.e. IEMA
