East West Rail is a proposed new rail link between Oxford, Milton Keynes, Bedford, Cambridge and potentially beyond. As part of the wider plans for this strategically important corridor, it is one of the most high profile infrastructure projects in the UK today. The new railway will improve local connectivity and serve as a catalyst for economic development and the creation of new housing, as well as significantly reducing existing journey times.

Key accountabilities:
We are looking for an experienced property professional to progress the East West Rail property strategy to support the DCO application and the long term management of East West Rail Company’s estate and liabilities.
This senior position is suited to an experienced professional with extensive experience of progressing strategy for complex land negotiations and acquisitions as well as long term sustainable estates management.
Role requirements:
• Strategic advice to our directors and internal shareholders.
• Input to the EWR Co. risk register.
• Develop the EWR Co. property strategy and management plan.
• Lead and manage an appointed team carrying out: land referencing, negotiations, and preparation of land plans and book of reference and preparation of the draft DCO
• For the purposes of land and rights required, manage the interfaces between the engineering, environmental and land referencing disciplines to ensure processes are adhered to, and to ensure accuracy and consistency of scheme limits and land parcels.
You should apply if you have:
• You will be a member of RICS (or equivalent).
• You will have experience of performing a similar role in dealing with large scale and complex infrastructure projects.
• You will be an experienced leader within an estates or property management environment, with a demonstrable track record of successfully managing a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Effective communicator with a proven track record of informing and influencing decision making at a senior level.
• Experience of managing teams and consultants.
• Proven track record of successful acquisitions and negotiations.
• Knowledge of data (including spatial and stakeholder data) management.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree/MSc (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline or equivalent business experience and training
• Chartered Environmentalist or Practitioner IEMA Membership working towards chartered status
