Hill International is seeking for a major tender we are preparing for a highway project in Kosovo the below team:

• Team leader/Resident engineer
• Highway Design Engineer

• Surveyor/ Quantity surveyor

Project information:

The Republic of Kosova has received financing from the Islamic Development Bank toward the cost of Upgrading the Milloshevë - Mitrovicë M2 Main Road Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Consulting Services for the Design Review and Construction Supervision of the Upgrading Milloshevë - Mitrovicë M2 Main Road Project, from 16.95km to 21.50km (a length of 4.55km).

Design and Review

Appraisal of road project proposals

Traffic surveys and forecasting

Highway design studies for construction and/or rehabilitation projects

Hydrological and drainage designs for road design

Geotechnical surveys, analysis and design of earthworks and retaining structures

Topographic surveys for road design and construction

Preparation of design and Bid / contract documents for roads projects

Materials investigation/road pavement design

Bridge Design and assessment

Working knowledge of FIDIC and alternative forms of contract

Road Safety Audit in design

Integration of Operation and Maintenance Issues, Whole Life Costing, Occupational Health and Safety management in road design and construction.

Construction Supervision

Supervision of Highway construction and rehabilitation

Contract management

Quality Control and testing of materials

Computer aided design and drafting

Highway Design, including all road and structural designs

Ground investigation; testing and interpretation of results for design of structural foundations

Training and transfer of knowledge (in a similar environment);

Social assessment of infrastructure projects, development of social safeguards and protection measures including road safety measures, and employment

Environmental assessment of infrastructure projects, interpretation of Kosova’s environmental protection laws and regulations, development of environmental mitigation measures

Working knowledge of FIDIC and alternative forms of contract

Road Safety Audit in design and construction

Integration of Operation and Maintenance Issues, Whole Life Costing, Occupational Health and Safety management in road design and construction.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experts should have the following qualifications:

• University degree qualified
• Excellent English language skills
• Approximately 10 years of overall professional experience
• At least 7 years of Project Management experience in Railway projects
• At least 2 railway projects, ideally over 40 km or railway track
• Previous experience in the Balkan region will be preferred.
• More than 5 years’ experience of the supervision of IFI funded civil works contracts implemented under FIDIC conditions;
