Role: IT Project Manager
Location: London
Responsible for definition and delivery of one or more Rail Service Business Systems IT projects. Typically managing one or multiple projects of PM@ C category or larger projects which may overlap with the responsibilities of a Project Manager of Category B level. Project customers are typically the internal production departments and management team of the Rail Systems business unit, but may also be external customers or partners where projects are required to achieve business systems integration with external entities.
Establishes business cases and defines the scope of projects to be managed within the Business Systems team.
Performs project management activities (defining scheduling, budget, risk, change, opportunity and resource management activities). Oversees technical reviews of system design and may manage the commissioning and installation of modifications and upgrades in line with customer expectations. Executes continuous improvement plan. Performs active role in maintaining client relationship.
Qualifications, Experience & Technical Know-How
Essential:
? Professional knowledge (5-7 years experience) in an IT or projects role.
? Experience in delivering asset management application projects for rolling assets within a customer facing environment.
? Experience in delivering warehouse management applications with financial application integration.
? Track record of defining, agreeing, prioritising and managing the delivery of a series of applications to deploy to a new mobile platform.
? Strong technical background in Information Technology or Computer Science.
? Track record of project delivery & management in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
? Is a Member and Qualified to APM (Association of Project Management) Introductory Certificate (IC) level or equivalent.
? Excellent organisation and leadership skills.
? Strong communicator and can demonstrate good stakeholder management.
? Experience of commercial and B2B contractual agreements including negotiation of new contracts and/or contract extensions.
? Ability to travel to the depots within the UK.
Preferred:
? Thorough knowledge of railway business and operating requirements, including rolling stock technical aspects/practices, and Railway Group Standards.
? Experience of Maximo (Transportation).
? Experience of SAP integration.
? Experience of rolling stock Maintenance Management and Materials Management within the Rail Industry.
? Experience of working with engineering and stores staff to introduce and embed new working processes.
? Chartered Engineer with membership of a senior Engineering Institution.
? A further qualification in project management (MSc) or business studies (MBA), with Membership of the Association of Project Management (APMP) or Institute of Project Managers.
? Good analytical and problem solving ability, comfortable with both big picture and detail as the need arises.
? Understand the competitive market and the importance of delivery of excellent customer service at all times.
