My client are contributing to the creation of a railway infrastructure fit for the 21st century - providing faster, safer and more reliable rail journeys, delivered with an absolute focus on safety and quality. We are electrifying key routes across the North West, improving connections between towns and cities including Manchester, Liverpool, Preston and Blackpool providing a reliable and sustainable railway, tackling overcrowding and reduce the cost of operating the railway. We are seeking an OLE Project Engineer based out of Manchester for this scheme of works, you will play a key role in the construction delivery of the North West Electrification Programme delivering high profile electrification projects of existing railway lines. Liaising with the Buried Services Team you will be preparing design drawings such as OLE layout plans, bonding plans, OLE cross sections and isolation diagrams/instructions plus submissions and reports. You will liaise closely with the design team to ensure the preparation and delivery of engineering works is completed on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities
- Undertake role of Lead Project Engineer/Project Manager on specific projects as required.
- Liaise with Design team to ensure technical specifications are issued as required for client and sub-contractors.
- Liaise with Design team to prepare project equipment schedules, drawings and diagrams to promote ease of installation and operation of the system.
- To manage the overall technical co-ordination of allocated project areas on behalf of the Power Supplies Operations Manager to ensure that the engineering work required is completed to programme and to the required quality.
- Assist in the preparation of the Technical Instruction and other project engineering documents to ensure that the technical and engineering information management requirements of the project are communicated to all concerned both internally and in supplier's organisations.
- Attend weekly project review meetings with the Power Supplies Management Team to review progress and set targets in accordance with overall programme.
- Liaise with client, contractors and third parties as required
- Ensure Engineering team members under your control are fully briefed, competent and in control of project activities.
- Raise appropriate issues with Colleagues and Senior Management and be an active member of the Power Supplies Team.
- Communicate to staff such information as necessary to ensure effective and efficient operation of the Department.
