Operations Project Interface Manager
Purpose of the Job
The Operations Project Interface Specialist will lead on engagement and consultation with stakeholders to ensure that the future Infrastructure Manager requirements related to safe operation of the infrastructure are defined, agreed with all duty holders, understood, produced, assured and implemented.
Principal Accountabilities

- Developing and shaping arguments to support operating methodology and convincing others of the merits of these arguments
Person Specification
- Deep understanding of rail operations including signalling operating principles, systems and standards applicable to both mainline and metro railways.
- Understanding of strategic risk management tools and techniques including HAZID and HAZOP and the legislation governing operational activities in the rail industry.
- Understanding of project lifecycles and the role of the operator in a live project environment
- Degree in operations management or equivalent experience gained within the railway industry.
- Substantial knowledge of current railway operating rules and instructions and the process used for development of operating rules, instructions and procedures.
- Broad knowledge of how operating standards for a mainline railway IM are managed both internal to the organisation and external in the wider industry environment.
- Ability to communicate and influence effectively amongst peers.
- Ability to establish a course of action for self and others, managing time, resources and surrounding circumstances to deliver objectives.
- Proficient in MS office skills, especially Word, Excel and Visio
- Developing railway operating principles, procedures and local working instructions for railway environments.
- Developing business management systems.
- Working with asset engineers and others to deliver improved infrastructure and systems.
- Identifying hazards and implementing risk controls systems.
- Leading and investigating accidents, incidents and other safety related events.
- Interfacing with internal / external stakeholders to develop rules and local working instructions.
