Ford & Stanley Ltd the Rail Recruitment specialists are currently seeking to appoint a Project Manager with experience gained within an Engineering environment. The client is niche and extremely well established.
Responsibilities
- To lead in the creation of Engineering programmes. Setting objectives, identifying critical paths, risks and milestones, and then driving teams to deliver success.
- To drive creation and maintenance of a live cross-department (within Engineering) capacity plan.
- To manage sub-contract Engineering resource principally from a planning and contractual standpoint.
- To review specifications and support the team interpretation, principally from a business protection perspective and to ensure compliance and risk is reflected in the Engineering strategies.
- Manage Engineering sub-contract resource, through working with the Project Team and Engineering department to ensure objectives related to cost, performance and delivery are met.
- Working with the Engineering department and Engineers, lead the creation of programmes in response to a Project or Enquiry (at point of Early Engagement) to ensure a plan is in place with regards to the delivery of Engineering activities
- Working with the lead engineers to ensure control documentation is completed in a timely manner and is used to control all design activities
- Working with the Engineering department to lead creation and maintenance of a live Engineering Capacity Plan.
- To identify and escalate risks and performance issues to the Engineering department and Project Managers as appropriate.
- Working with the Engineering Delivery Manager, Engineering and the wider business to develop new processes which support the successful delivery of projects, with a focus on the Engineering delivery.
- To report progress to the Project Managers and line management on a regular basis.
- Interpret engineering specifications and standards.
- To support company initiatives and attend training events as necessary.
- Attendance at, and arrangement of, internal meetings, visits to site and to the client as required
Requirement
- Relevant Engineering HNC In Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
- Site safety competence qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Self-discipline with the ability to work unsupervised.
- Able to work sustained extended/unsocial hours during period of breakdown or special test requirements.
- Ability to prioritise and delegate.
