An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Principal Engineering Manager CRE to work on a once-in-a-generation rail upgrade programme to deliver faster, longer, more frequent and more reliable rail services across the north of England,
as the successful applicant you will be required you to deliver Project to an authorised budget and within the timeframe. As the Principal Engineering Manager CRE you will lead and manage P&D/HV engineering team. Ensuring the projects compliance with current standards and the requirements and that the CRE role duties are discharged in line with the relevant issue of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/INI/02009.
Responsibilities will be but not limited to will be the following
previous experience of working on Substations
lead and manage all P&D/HV engineering activities for their team
co-operate with the other engineering teams and disciplines
plan and implement P&D/HV engineering activities
monitor and improve / develop engineering competence of the team - specific to P&D/HV
plan and undertake briefings on engineering issues - specific to P&D/HV
assist the PEM with engineering initiatives
assist the Competence Manager with engineering competence assessments - specific to P&D/HV
undertake P&D/HV CRE(construction) duties (subject to nomination and authorisation)
contribute to all necessary engineering documentation (programmes, WPP, TB s etc.) - specific to P&D/HV
review all necessary engineering site documentation (programmes, WPP, TB s etc.) - specific to P&D/HV
Identify any deviations from any standards (e.g. Network Rail Standards) and submit applications for derogations where appropriate.
Engineering assurance and quality control.
Support the CEM in the discharge of their role duties including Construction Design Management (CDM) compliance and the clients Common Safety Method Risk Assessment (CSM-RA) and Hazard Log.
It is envisaged that the successful applicant will have and be able to demonstrate the following experience and knowledge
General P&D/HV engineering knowledge and experience
Knowledge and experience of planning and implementing P&D/HV works in a wide range of circumstances and environments, including on-track, lineside and stations.
Knowledge and understanding of Network Rail P&D/HV standards
level A
PTS holder
Valid UK driving license
CRE experience
IOSH managing safely qualification
