My client who have formed an alliance are looking to hire a Project Engineer (Systems) to join their team in Manchester.
Position Overview
- Accountable to the Project Alliance Engineering Manager for providing Systems Integration support to the Engineering and Design teams through SI4D
- Provide support to the Project Alliance Engineering Manager in integrating across functions within the Engineering and Design Teams. i.e. across design, assurance, construction, systems engineering etc
- Work with the leads for the systems engineering specialisms and support the integration of these into projects
- Responsible for the management of the project level ‘system architecture’
- Support the DPE in the development of the EIS Strategy and its implementation
- Support the DPE and CEM(s) in the tracking of assurance documentation through the approvals process to AFC, tracking the corresponding construction assurance evidence, as built status and records updates
- Fulfil the role of ‘Integration Engineer’ in accordance with the Northern Programmes IDC/IDR process including supporting the closure of IDC/IDR actions and signing of certification
- Responsible for managing the technical interface with interfacing projects through the co-ordination of project-to-project IDC/IDR’s, providing technical input in the production of Interface Definition Documents and the dissemination of this information to the Engineering and Design teams
Key Skills
Essential:-
1. Strong communications skills
2. Professional registration at IEng level
3. Experience in Systems Integration and systems engineering on large multi-disciplinary projects
4. Understanding of railway system interfaces
5. Understanding of systems engineering specialisms interfaces
Desired:-
1. Chartered Engineer or working towards it
2. Registered member of professional institution (INCOSE)
3. Knowledge of/ experience in Alliancing and working in integrated cross company/ client teams.

Supporting the PAEM in ensuring integration across the E&D functions within a project group

Production and management of the project level system architecture

Production and management of an IDC/IDR action log aligned to the engineering dashboard/reporting structure

Support the DPE and CEM in the identification and management of project-to-project interfaces
R
Arranging and facilitating project-to-project IDC/IDR’s incl with external projects
R
Providing technical input to the production of Interface Definition Documents lead by the integration team
R
Cascade of the information/interfaces within relevant IDD’s back through the Engineering and Design teams and support the management of the technical interfaces through the requirements team, the IDC/IDR’s process and assurance process
R
Supporting the DPE in the production of the EIS strategy
R
Supporting the DPE and Integration Lead in the tracking and status reporting of EIS deliverables
R
Tracking of engineering deliverable status through the GRIP stages including design approval status, design AFC status, corresponding construction assurance evidence status incl any residual/deferred scope items for EIS, as built status and record update status

Supporting the CEM and DPE with preparation for, and close out of, iELC phase gates.

Supporting the CEM and DPE in managing engineering performance through the use of dashboards and KPIs.

All IDC/IDR actions closed within 10 days of IDC/IDR taking place (unless otherwise agreed with integration team)

Internal and external project interfaces defined within system architecture and iRRD/iDRRD as appropriate

EIS strategy, associated checklists (per stage) and tracking process endorsed at T-6 months from EIS

Status of all design, approvals, construction assurance evidence and deferred EIS items defined prior to each EIS stage

As built design and records return status defined prior to handback to maintenance through AMP process
