Title: Project Engineer
Location: Glasgow
Hours: Full time, 37 hours
Samuel Knight International are pleased to be recruiting for a experienced project engineer for our prestigious client.

We are looking for someone to join the company ano manage the engineering scope or Rail projects ensuring delivery of a safe and technically compliant product in line with local processes and procedures within the QCD targets.
Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Project Manager and Lead Engineer (Projects)
- Interfaces with Project Manager and helps with generation, production and update of the project engineering plans.
- Manages the DFQ implementation to aquire a GO status in accordance with project planned dates.
- Acts as the main interface with production engineering, production and site on technical issues.
- Manages documentation in line with local procedures – including archiving.
- Monitors engineering plans to ensure work is on time and to cost
- Ensures engineering follow project processes and procedures
- Ensures all Engineering output meets the technical and safety requirements of the customer and all relevant standards
- Interfaces with Design Manager (where applicable) and assists in resolution of technical issues
- Resolves project resource issues in conjunction with Lead Project Engineer
- Assists tendering with design/production of work packages for similar products
- Production of technical tenders for tender submission
- Production of engineering work packages and costs for technical tenders
- Contributes to R&D implementation and planning
- Contributes to local ROE and validation process to ensure ROE across different projects
- Contributes to local improvement activities
Education Requirements
- Experience of managing multi disciplined engineering teams to budget and time constraints
- Refurbishment of rail vehicle interiors
- Knowledge and understanding of railway standards and approvals
- Use and application of PC based project planning tools e.g. Microsoft Project etc.
- Customer facing role experience
- Minimum HNC in a mechanical/electrical discipline
- Membership of professional body
