A major railway project is seeking a Project Engineer experience in Rolling Stock to Work collaboratively with other teams and suppliers to develop and deliver resolution of rolling stock anomalies identified. as well as Highlight any specific Risk and Safety concerns and be actively involved in providing mitigating solutions.
Main challenges of the job
Working as part of the multi-organisation Triage Team, providing analysis of issues and facilitating finding solutions. This will include providing an interface between the Triage Team and senior members of the CRL, Siemens and Bombardier management team presenting issues, such that they can be unblocked by senior management;
To communicate and report progress in a concise, timely and accurate manner, keeping the Project Manager well informed. This ability to communicate is required at a both working level and a senior level
To maintain a high level of flexibility when dealing with changing requirements.
To carefully manage different teams and stakeholders and appropriately handle information of various sensitivities.
To identify issues and offer solutions that may be practically implemented within the Crossrail environment
The successful applicant show have experience in the following
Knowledge of project management of rail delivery projects.
Management ability including knowledge of, risk / issue management, approvals & acceptance, quality and safety matters. This should include use of issues management tools, such as top-ten , pareto analysis, visualisation boards, etc.
Educated to HNC or Degree level in a mechanical, electrical discipline or equivalent.
Membership of a professional engineering, project management or railway operating institution.
Awareness of safety regime within railway industry, railway operations, engineering and manufacturing.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills (verbal and written), at all levels.
Strong influencing skills and an effective team player.
Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders and deal with competing interests in an inclusive and pragmatic manner.
Strong delivery ethic, with excellent programme awareness and a commitment for successful delivery to schedule.
