Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Experts have partnered with an award-winning train operator in the Midlands.

Due to a restructure within the franchise projects team, we are currently seeking a Project Manager with a background in engineering with experience of Rolling Stock depots, who will ensure that everything is in place for the successful delivery of Rolling Sock Depot facilities.

Location (s): Birmingham

Contract Length: 6 months

Role and Responsibilities:

• To project manage the successful and timely delivery of the project for the existing Depots, supporting the operation, maintenance and deployment of train fleets.
• To ensure that the depot works are delivered within the agreed timescales to support the servicing and operation of the fleet.
• To ensure that the all the depot works programmes meet all safety and governance requirements.
• To manage effective working relationships with all stakeholders working in a positive and collaborative manner.
• Develop strategies and plans for the delivery of Depot Improvements and participate in the development of depot works, including the modification of the existing Depots sites on the Network.
• Provide leadership and direction to the Technical Advisors in the development of designs as appropriate.
• Develop robust project plans and RAID logs to support the project and to comply with internal Project Governance.
• Participate in the sharing of project management best practice across the Transition & Project Directorate and the wider business.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience of complex Rolling Stock Depot projects involving multi-disciplinary teams
• Experience of managing and maintaining depot facilities
• Experience in procurement for the build of new and upgrade of old depots.
• An understanding of NEC and commercial contracts.
• Strong Appreciation of importance of stakeholder engagement, and requisite inter-personal skills to engage with stakeholders
• Strong appreciation of importance of customer experience
• Strong ability to produce clear and concise reports
• Qualified in either: PRINCE2, APMP or PMIBOK (desirable)
