Project Manager - Highways
A global professional services company seeks a highly capable Project Manager to be seconded out to a key client in the East Midlands.
Based in the client's office, Project Manager will provide strategic advice at the project inception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the client's overall objectives. They will also lead the establishment of the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters. The primary objective is to implement the pedestrianisation scheme of a city centre.
Key responsibilities:
Establish effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout project delivery.
Deliver assigned projects to meet client requirements and achieve business outcomes, whilst:
Ensuring that H&S is the highest priority supporting clients in the delivery of a safe working environment.
Managing project budgets.
Scheduling activities, managing risk and maximising financial return and opportunities.
Managing the integration of project work streams - including resolution of key interface issues.
Engaging with a broad range of stakeholders on key issues to resolve project constraints.
Providing clients with relevant, concise and accurate reporting information.
Analysing performance and commercial data and advising our clients on appropriate actions to achieve optimal outcomes.
Providing direction and supervision to assigned supporting staff.
Establishing and maintaining good, professional and pro-active working relationships with Contractors and suppliers.
Planning and management of procurement exercises.
Experience and Qualification requirements:
Ideal candidates are likely to be degree qualified.
Minimum 5 years post qualification experience ideally in a Local Authority setting.
Demonstrable experience of managing Programme, Budgets and Quality.
H&S knowledge and experience.
Experience advising or working for clients on the delivery of infrastructure projects with a preference for highways and/or civil environmental projects.
The ability to make sense of a broad range of information, determine appropriate strategies and implement them for maximum client value.
Experience of project delivery through all stages of the life cycle.
An understanding of client delivery processes and standards.
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to successfully manage and deliver projects.
Extensive experience of managing various applicable contract forms.
Good communication skills.
The ability to manage a team and/or control multiple projects.
