PROJECT MANAGER RAIL – SOUTH EAST - PERMANENT

Company Background: COOMBES (based in Petersfield, with satellite offices in Kent) are an expanding Tier One Contractor to Network Rail, operating an ever growing number of projects involving; maintenance works, structure examinations, drainage, fencing and other Civils works in the Southeast. We are also a main Framework Contractor to HS2 and involved in delivering many site clearance packages spanning from North London up to Birmingham.

The company is also one of the largest forestry contractors in the Southeast. The company owns an impressive array of plant, which benefits both forestry and rail operations. We also own our own RRV’s.

What We Need: We are looking for an experienced and Full Time Project Manager to assist us in delivering a number of projects in the above areas, within framework contracts. The works will vary in nature and will mainly consist of de-vegetation / site clearance works, fencing and the clearance of Network Rail structures.

The ideal candidate will have worked within a projects environment on a number of reactive maintenance or Minor Works frameworks in the past and will be experienced in all aspects of client liaison, reporting, organising teams / workloads and will be a motivated and dedicated addition to our team. We are looking for someone who is based within an hours radius of our main office in Petersfield. The role will involve a fair amount of driving to and from site and client meetings.

The role: We are looking for a self motivated, disciplined person to oversee:

• Day to day management and delivery of reactive maintenance projects

• Planning and coordinating works

• Overseeing planning, commercial and operational functions

• Leading and implementing health and safety systems

• Client management and liaison

• Valid PTS is required for this role

• Identifying areas for staff development and training

Requirements:

• Experience of delivering work under a framework agreement

• Proven track record of managing and delivering minor works

• Able to manage a large volume of low value projects

• Overseeing cost control, cost monitoring and cost value reconciliation

• Preparation and implementation of site safety systems, ensuring works can be carried out in a safe and efficient manner
