Project Manager
Location: Chatham, Kent
Project: HV Cable Maintenance Kent Route
Scope of Works:
The works comprise maintenance of high voltage oil filled cables, pilot cables and associated routes. This includes the maintaining of oil pressure in such cables.
- Repair damage to the HV feeder route trackside at various locations in the Kent and Sussex routes
- Work will include replacement of troughing and route stabilisation work ion HV feeders.
- Reactive works to repair oil filled HV cables and XLPE HV cables up to 33kv. Repair and diagnosis of faults on multicore pilot cables using specialist cable jointers and test technicians. Oil pumping cables to return system to design pressure
Experience:
- Solid rail industry experience and proven success in the management of projects.
- Sound background in the technical field of HV Cable Maintenance
Capability and Responsibility:
- Client relationships are established and maintained
- First point of contact for the Site Supervisor in day to day operations Ensure all Labour, Plant and Materials are arranged and available for all projects to take place as planned.
- Undertake and produce HV Assessments and Site Surveys
- Consider ALO (any line open) on all contract under their control.
- Comply with all personal and post specific responsibilities detailed in the Company Procedure - P085 Roles & Responsibilities Document.
- Ensure that RIPS activities are assigned to competent RIPS planners - giving required information to the rail interface planner (RIPS) to book and plan possession/worksites.
- Critical decision making for how work is prioritised, planned and delivered.
- Acting as Responsible Manager for all SSOW packs for works under their control, Accepting or rejecting the plans produced by the planner, including verifying that the level of protection is appropriate for the location and nature of work.
- Be competent with suitable and sufficient experience in managing railway interface planning to oversee RIPS activities and specify protection needs to the planner.
- Be able to demonstrate their ownership of the planning process and Safety Critical decision making.
- Ensure that all staff are correctly trained for the tasks given to them.
Document Control:
- Ensure that all site paperwork is completed and returned on time. This includes Timesheets, Site Diaries and Work completion forms. Maintain and update project folders.
- Follow all Company Procedures and Policies.
- Produce all site documentation - Risk Assessments, Site Surveys, Reports, Work Package Plans, Construction Phase Plans, Task Briefings etc.
- Make certain all necessary authorisations have been given (and documented) to allow works to take place, including written client confirmation requesting that work can proceed as agreed.
- Deliver, Monitor and Report KPI’s and Milestones as set out by the client.
