SYSTRA are looking to expand our Signature Team in the UK, working on high profile infrastructure projects such as Crossrail and HS2, we are building on our 50 years of success in the UK by growing our team and looking for passionate people to deliver projects across our portfolio.

We are now seeking to strengthen and grow our Engineering team in our Birmingham office, initially working as part of our Main Works Civils High Speed 2 project team, by recruiting an experienced Project Manager.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a range of experience within the Civil Engineering/Transportation/Infrastructure sectors.

Main Duties

  • Overall project management and leadership of engineering and design deliverables within the sub-lot
  • Co-located in the front office with the integrated project team (including client)
  • Responsible for delivery in accordance with the contract terms and conditions
  • Responsible for ensuring design is delivered in line with the programme, managing programme risk, critical path and key input/output milestones
  • Responsible for ensuring design is delivered in line with the agreed budget, approving forecast and actual cost data provided by the project controls team
  • Constantly striving for design efficiencies to deliver cost savings for our clients
  • Overall management of change, risk and opportunities for the sub-lot through extensive cooperation with the commercial team
  • Responsible for monthly internal and external progress and exception reporting across all elements of the sub-lot
  • Health and safety leadership for the sub-lot, demonstrating visible safety leadership
  • Deep collaboration with the sub-lot engineering manager to ensure that appropriate resources are allocated to delivery and that the SYSTRA 'signature' standard of quality is achieved
  • Primary interface/point of contact with the D&B client project manager and construction team
  • Responsible for liaison/integration with the PMO office, Engineering Management and Assurance team and Technical Directorate

Experience

  • Experience in delivering major infrastructure or transportation projects
  • Experience in managing large multidisciplinary team, managing stakeholders including client and external stakeholders
  • Experience managing design for design and build projects, ideally at detailed design stage
  • Experience in managing scope, costs, programme and risk
  • Demonstrable Health and Safety Leadership skills
  • Chartered Civil Engineer MICE or industry equivalent, or Association of Project Management (MAPM), PRINCE 2 or industry equivalent
