What can you bring to this role?

• A professional qualification in Civil Engineering: HNC, HND, BSc, BEng
• Experience working with a main contractor on rail schemes: ideally minor works or asset management
• A technical background will be key, working up from Site Engineering and being settled within a PM position for the last couple of years

What will you be doing as Project Manager?

As Project Manager you’ll be focusing on smaller packages of rail works. Ranging from de-vegetation, embankment repairs, structural and maintenance works on bridges to name a few. The reactive and planned maintenance projects you’ll be working on will range from £10k up to £0.5m maximum.

A normal day will include monitoring the project performance, assessing the budget, the programme of works and the quality of the work in progress. You’ll also asses the standard of future installation work, conducting site inspections and relaying the information back to the Contract Manager. Commercial duties will also fall under your remit, alongside liaison with key stakeholders and senior management.
