This opportunity sits in Supply Chain Operations, a newly formed division of Route Services that procures safe, balanced, products and services that are in turn used to improve and enhance the rail infrastructure across Britain. Our extensive supply chain network plays a crucial role in helping to run a safe and efficient railway.
As a Project Manager, you will manage the development and delivery of change projects to agreed scope, time, cost and quality requirements working alongside your Functional Directors, Executive Sponsors and their representatives. You will lead on the project delivery, enhancement and relocation for SCO facilities nationally, using your experience and understanding of projects to approach this in the most efficient way.

• Able to create and manage strong relationships and provide strong stakeholder management with key internal and external customers Please note this role will be based in Wales, however this role will include a high level of travel to different parts of the country in order to deliver various project to company standards standards. About the role (External) Key Accountabilities
•Deliver the project(s) safely to time, cost and quality, in accordance with the Guide to Railway Investment Projects (GRIP), applicable company standards and other specific legislation including construction design management (CDM) Regulations.
•Provide a professional, first class, consistent and effective project management service to the clients, including project monitoring and reporting systems in accordance with company standards and guidelines
•Participate in the development of supply strategies and framework contracts.
•Provide detailed input for compilation of the business plan and production of the possessions plan.
•Control project change, risks and contingency within the project life cycle and provide all cost, contingency and programme details to enable the Sponsor to obtain authorisation for portfolios/projects.
•Provide a safe working environment in the execution of work directly under the post holder's responsibility, including development of project safety plans and other associated documentation.
•Act as CDM Planning Supervisor as directed.
•Identify training needs in safety, technical and management areas for the personnel reporting to the post holder and contribute to their personal development.
•Undertake accident investigations when remitted to by the relevant designated competent person.
•Comply with the Investment Competence Framework.
Experience & Qualifications: Essential
• Relevant successful experience in project management
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Detailed knowledge of safety regulations (particularly CDM)
• Team leader capable of motivating the team
• Commercial and financial understanding and knowledge
• Accident Investigation experience Desirable
• Educated to degree level
• Member of project association
• Commercial and financial awareness
• Knowledge of the principles of investment processes and procedures
• Knowledge of/experience in the UK rail industry
• Experience of working in change projects or building/ construction project
• Understanding of applying project methodologies and work in an organised way
• Experience of CDM legislation
