Are you a Project Manager seeking a position which will provide you with the autonomy to take the reins and oversee either a portfolio of rail structures projects or help with singular large projects for both HS2 and Network rail? The Opportunity:

Taking lead on multi-disciplined rail projects small to large, you will be managing projects within the company’s thriving Central region with works consisting of platform extensions, station refurbishments, signal box refurbishments, Access for All schemes and early involvement on HS2 Projects.

As Project manager, you will take full responsibility in the seamless development and delivery of projects by working in co-ordination with the Pre-Construction, Engineering and Planning teams. You will also visit sites 2-3 times per week to ensure accordance with design, and correct paperwork is in place. This position will give you the opportunity to showcase your skills in managing smaller projects concurrently as well as a singular larger project, and your inevitable success will ensure you’ll be on track to climbing this companies ladder in a rewarding and swift way.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Managing the Site Team of Site Agents, Site Manager, and Supervisors, with a dotted line into
    Commercial, Engineering and Planning.
    • Inspect and approve site paperwork including; method statements, risk assessments, work
    package plans
    • Reporting on Project Progress/challenges to the Senior Story Management team
    Produce the Programme and CPP.
    Manage the interface between the PC and the Tier 2 contractors
    • Work with the Engineering team to innovate on value engineering solutions
    • If applicable act as CRE for construction on relevant site disciplines

Package:

For this position, the company is offering a basic salary £55,000 to £65,000 per annum, the choice of a company car or car allowance, 26 days holiday + bank holidays with two optional charity days and the option to buy more holidays, funding and support with professional memberships, 4.5% matched pension rising to 7.5%, Life assurance and an Agile working policy.

About you:

It is essential that you’re an established Project manager, Assistant Project manager or Site Agent who has a proven track record working on Heavy Civil engineering projects involving Earthworks, drainage, rail works, or highways – rail is desirable. You will have some idea of Network rail contracts and ideally come from a Tier 1 or 2 contractor.
