My Manchester based client are seeking applications from candidates for a Project Planner permanent position within their company. This role is situated within the project management division where the successful candidate will report directly to the Project Director. The role of the Project Planner is to co-ordinate with relevant teams that are involved with the successful delivery of rolling stock projects, guaranteeing that plans are developed, updated and communicated in a precise and timely manner.
The candidate will have the following skill set:
- Has experience within the rail industry of Project Delivery or Operations.
- Have good IT skills and Project Management Qualifications in Prince2 or the equivalent.
- Candidates are able to respond and adapt to fast-paced changing circumstances and be able to find solutions quickly whilst maintaining motivation and focus.
- Be able to follow and promote safe working practices from previous knowledge and experience in a workplace that is safety critical.
- Can respond by working flexibly to an evolving role that will cover a broad range of activities. Candidates will also need to understand and adapt to different cultural methods of communicating and working.
- Maintain a positive work attitude through communicating and acting in a manner aligned to the values of the business.
- Accepts responsibility for their own work, are punctual and well organised.
Key responsibilities within the role:
- To be able to develop detailed project plans that include all tasks that are needed in order to deliver contractual requirements.
- Interdependent tasks need to be verified for plans to be polished to allow for projects to be delivered more efficiently and effectively.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on the progression of the programme in addition to the constraints that projects might be facing. The preparation of weekly objectives and schedules are needed in order to assist the Product Implementation manger with project delivery.
- Successful candidates need to be able to develop good relationships with global stakeholders and liaise with Project Managers in the UK and abroad. This will ensure that project milestones are met by through effective project planning and plan execution. Previous experience of working with others from different cultures would be useful.
- Candidates need to be able to develop warning processes that signal delays and issues within a project at the earliest opportunity.
- Keeping up to date with advances in the company and wider sector practices that may have an impact on day-to-day activities.
- To uphold the Company’s values, aims and objectives and wider policies in the workplace.
