Project Risk & Efficiency Manager

  • Actively manage and promote a robust risk control on customer projects in a region.
  • Ensure that all potential commercial, contractual and delivery risks are identified and robustly managed and mitigated.
  • Promote a culture of efficiency working closely with the customer to develop and drive efficiencies within the projects.
  • Communicate both internally and externally moving towards agreed objectives.
  • Support the Regional Delivery Director and Project teams on risk and efficiency aspects.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Define and implement Project Efficiency Plans.
  • Define and implement Project Risk Management Plans.
  • Ensure that Project core teams are trained at an appropriate level in the disciplines of Risk Management and Efficiency Planning by running seminars and training courses.
  • Chair regular Risk and Efficiency Sessions with each Project team.
  • Act as leader on risk & efficiency identification 'brainstorming' sessions.
  • Propose risk owners and efficiency champions within the Project team.
  • Evaluate each identified risk and efficiency in collaboration with the owners.
  • Ensure the implementation and follow-up of risk mitigation and efficiency realisation actions.
  • Support to risk owners for the definition, the implementation and the follow-up of mitigation actions.
  • Support to efficiency champions for the definition, the implementation and the realisation of actions.
  • Ensure that the approved actions are integrated into the main Project schedule and budget.
  • Monitor progress on actions, escalating where appropriate.
  • Create and maintain consolidated Project Risk Registers and Efficiency Plans.
  • Produce monthly Regional Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Reports and Improvement Plan.

Reporting:

  • Create and maintain consolidated Project Risk Registers and Efficiency Plans.
  • Produce monthly Regional Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Reports and Improvement Plan.

Performance Measurements:

  • Regular risk & efficiency sessions held with the Project Teams.
  • Training and seminars delivered where needed.
  • Project Risk Registers and Efficiency Plans in place.
  • Regional Key Performance Indicator Reports and Improvement Plans updated and issued.

Skills Required

Professional Project Management qualification or equivalent experience
Trained in railway products and systems
Qualification in Risk Management practices
Member of relevant Professional Institution
Significant experience in Project Management
Demonstratable experience of applying Risk Management & Efficiency Planning processes in a railway environment

Desirable

Knowledge of signalling systems
Knowledge of industry standard contract types

Competencies & Skills

Strong IT skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Confident and able to present to and facilitate large groups
Motivated and capable of defining requirements and driving innovative solutions.Enthusiastic on the subject matter, able to work under own initiative and be accountable for successful delivery.
