Samuel Knight International are pleased to be recruiting for a Fleet Engineers / Project Engineer position based in Birmingham, working with a Rolling Stock operator who are seeking a candidate to join a growing engineering team.

The role will encapsulate service bulletins, component inspections, machine modification engineering and intepretation of standards as necessary (not every day).

Our client are open minded to working with candidates who have different academic and employment backgrounds. The skills gained through a HND, HNC, BEng or MEng could all serve different value within the role, but ultimately our client are seeking real world experience in this capacity, with a desire to advance their career qualifications no matter where they currently stand.

Technical requirements:

• Demonstratable experience in a similar previous role
• Capable of using design tools like Solid Edge
• Demonstratable experience of rolling stock engineering standards and operational codes.
• Fluent in Railway standards in the UK, it is advantageous if you have experience of this in the EU.

Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and be self-driven to move product life cycle forward.

In order to serve the existing customer base best, and expand it in line with the company ehtos, we are seeking candidates who are considered, thoughtful and can articulate well infront of peers, stakeholders and clients.

This position reports to a Senior member of the Project Engineering team, and the successful candidate would support our clients fleets across RAMS. Our client's engineering team work across M&E , this particular role could hold either a mechanical or electrical bias, so long as the successful candidate held a desire to improve across the board.

Our client expects that any candidate would have a big desire to grow their skillsets across new areas of Rolling Stock engineering.
