Our Rail Team continues to add to their impressive list of project awards and recent successes have seen them secure some of the UK’s most high profile, complex and stimulating projects to complement their existing portfolio of works. The new schemes are diverse and technically complicated and build on the success of London Bridge Station Regeneration, Crossrail, Bank Station Regeneration and Manchester Victoria. Recent wins include Crossrail 2, Barking Riverside Extension and Kings Cross Remodelling.

We have an enviable reputation in the delivery of some of the UK’s most prestigious and challenging schemes and we are currently working on behalf of TfL, Network Rail, Rail Operating Companies and Contractors throughout the UK on feasibility to handover stages of major infrastructure projects, designing and engineering complex technical solutions to meet and exceed our Clients’ needs.

Requirements:

Presently, we seek an Assistant Project Manager to become an integral part of our rail team based in York, supporting the delivery of key Projects to time, quality, budgetary and health and safety targets. Please note that Arcadis adhere to the rail industries Drug and Alcohol policies and you may be tested randomly for Drugs and Alcohol at any time during your employment. To be considered for a role we are seeking candidates with the following credentials:

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

  • Degree Qualified in relevant subject
  • Professional qualifications such as MICE, MIStructE or APM advantageous but not essential

Essential Experience:

  • Professional services background
  • Prior project experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills\
  • Ability to think in an innovative and entrepreneurial manner
  • Ability to work as part of a team and work to deadlines
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office applications

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be accountable for providing proactive support for the delivery of a portfolio of projects across the rail industry, contributing towards the achievement of the divisional business plan. The role will be based in York, however willingness and ability to travel throughout the UK is required. Additional responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Being familiar with, and compliant with, relevant H & S regulations and promoting a culture of awareness within the team
  • Taking responsibility for meeting programme, cost and quality targets for individual projects and/or taskings
  • Supporting the Project Manager in leading the design team on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Managing commercial and financial project outcomes to optimise return
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant company systems throughout the bidding and project execution process
  • Organising and managing regular Project Reviews.
  • Ensure that appropriate Technical Reviews are carried out and closed out.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time.
  • Support the maintenance and updates to the Projects Engineering Management plan
  • Support the Lead Design Organisation
  • Support the Network Change consent process
  • Support the collation and issue of a periodic Design Integration Actions and Issues Report
  • Support the collation and issue of a periodic overall Project Action Log
  • Support the maintenance of the Asset Management Plan
  • Support Arcadis PSS PM Requirements
