Rates - £250-£300 per day

About the role / project:
Working within Infrastructure Projects Scotland and North East Region (IP SNE Renewals) on several power cable supplies, 650 cable installation works projects. Manage projects from inception to close out. The projects are established and are in the implementation stage. Attending progress meetings with external contractors and stakeholders.
What you will do:
You will manage projects through their full lifecycle. You will develop remits, manage project delivery and close-out projects, in compliance with the Network Rail GRIP process, whilst always maintaining high standards of Safety and environmental compliance.
As a Scheme Project Manager in IP SNE Renewals, you will have an opportunity to work across a range of disciplines including signalling, telecoms and power supply. You will work closely with a range of external and internal stakeholders.
You will be joining a high performing team with a strong record of delivery and we will expect you to maintain our high standards of project delivery, ensuring high Client satisfaction.

Essential Criteria
Key Accountabilities:
- Accountable for the delivery of complex projects to time, cost and high quality standards. Adhering to safety and environmental standards and in accordance with the Governance of Railway Investment Projects (GRIP); Network Rail standards and current legislation.
- Support the project Sponsor in preparing project remits and maintaining the definitions of the project requirements
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams, comprised of internal and external stakeholders, to design and construct projects. Stakeholders include: commercial, procurement, engineers, designers and Principle Contractors.
- Support the establishment and monitoring of, the project programme.
- Identify, monitor, communicate and resolve project risks (threats and opportunities).
- Implement and manage resource allocation plans needed for the delivery of the project including the identification and management of critical resource requirements. Secure resources needed for projects from internal and external sources.
- Engage with and lead stakeholder relationships including internal and external parties, taking account of their level of influence and particular interests.
- Manage project reviews at appropriate points throughout the project lifecycle in accordance to GRIP.
- Implement Change Control
- Ensure adherence to CDM and other Health, Safety and environmental legislation.

Job Skills, Experience, Qualifications
- Experience of Project Management in a complex project environment,
- Experience in the Rail industry is desirable but not essential
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Membership of, or working towards the Association of Project Management accreditation
- PRINCE 2 practitioner or equivalent
- Personal Track Safety (PTS) holder, desirable but not essential
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confident communicator
- Demonstrable project safety management knowledge and practice
