Mane are recruiting for a Scheme Project Manager for a permanent position in Uddingston. For this role you must have strong Rail/Civils experience. As an SPM you will be required to lead projects from inception to successful conclusion, co-ordinating multi-team collaboration to foster a joint approach to project design, development and delivery.
Key Accountabilities
1. Maximise the performance of the project including end to end management of the project programme and budget
*Challenge the team to provide innovations and solutions to meet and exceed Client requirements
*Manage and build positive relationships with all stakeholders throughout the project
*Communicate and manage project progress
*Ensure adequate resource is available for the project development
*Take ownership for and manage the commercial aspects of the project through the Site and Commercial teams to track and address project change and risk; ensuring timely and accurate commercial reporting and close out
2. Responsibility for efficient project development and leading the project development team. Provide support through the project delivery phase.
*Effective and pro-active planning through close and strong working relationship with CM/s through lifecycle of project.
*Lead and manage the performance and capacity of the project team
*Identify and set quality standards for projects
3. Identify and maximise future talent. Develop future development capability and capacity
*Promote internal talent to realise the potential of the team
*Manage, coach and develop direct reports to maximise their performance and potential
4. Responsibility for the embedding of safety and quality through the development of projects
*Safe delivery of projects through thorough planning and providing support to the site teams throughout delivery
*Promotion of a safety first culture on site
5. Undertake the role of Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE) in accordance with NWR standards, where appointed
Enablers to the Role (Skills, Knowledge, Experience)
*CRE competent/signed off
*Relevant project management experience
*HNC Engineering qualified or equivalent experience
*Extensive working knowledge of rail industry and infrastructure
*Effective leadership and confident decision maker
*Commercial awareness and outlook
*Strong team player with excellent communication skills
*Highly motivated
*Capacity to manage a high volume of workload effectively
*Excellent IT skills across MS office and particularly Primavera P6
*PTS Certified
*Full driving licence
*Client/relationship management experience
