Senior Planning Manager - Major Rail Project, Riyadh

A leading European consultancy is seeking a Senior Planning Manager to join their team on a landmark rail project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

About the Role:
As Senior Planning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in aligning project objectives with scheduling strategies, resource allocation, and risk management. You'll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of a major rail infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders to gather requirements and incorporate feedback into scheduling processes.
• Analyse project scope, specifications, and constraints to identify critical path activities and scheduling risks.
• Collaborate with relevant departments to allocate resources effectively, considering labour, materials, and equipment availability.
• Monitor project progress, update schedules, track milestones, and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays.
• Identify and manage schedule risks, develop contingency plans, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and present schedule performance reports, highlighting achievements, issues, and recommendations.
• Stay up to date with industry best practices and innovative scheduling techniques to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 20 years' total experience, with at least 10 years in the rail sector and 5 years in a senior planning/management role.
• Proven experience in project planning, scheduling, and coordination within engineering or construction industries.
• Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex project data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder collaboration.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in scheduling and reporting.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP) is desirable but not mandatory.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) is essential.
