Job Title - Senior Project Engineer (M&E)
Location - Birmingham, Baskerville House
Rates - Up to £ 571.18 LTD/UMBRELLA or £509.66 PAYE | IN SCOPE OF IR35
About the role:
An exciting opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team of Engineers and Project Managers, undertaking schemes of work within the rail environment ranging from £2M to hundreds of millions of pounds. Projects will consist of the provision of Mechanical and Electrical facilities.
What you will do:
- Implement Network Rail systems and procedures to deliver a cost effective, high quality and safe approach to design on relevant projects.
- Monitor the competence of all Project Engineers working on projects and provide functional guidance.
- Apply engineering controls and procedures to all projects and check whether all design and construction contracts include reference to appropriate Railway Group and Network Rail Company standards.
- Apply relevant techniques/procedures of quantified and qualitative risk assessment and HAZOP analysis to all projects and check whether the environmental aspects of all projects are managed in accordance with Network Rail Environmental Policy.
- Advise project and programme management in respect of all construction activities, testing and commissioning, and site supervision. Monitor whether the design and construction elements meet the requirements of legislation, including construction design management (CDM) regulations.
Your experience will include:
- Successful relevant experience in the field of Mechanical & Electrical Building Services preferably in rail.
- Knowledge of CIBSE, British Standards and Building Regulations relating to M&E services.
- CDM, risk assessment, auditing internal and external competency.
- CITB CSCS scheme.
- Experience of the rail environment particularly within 25kV AC electrified areas.
- Experience in securing an authority to work to allow the sign off for designs.
- Experience with preparation of M&E designs approval.
