ewi are recruiting on behalf of a US heavy civil contractor who are seeking a Senior Project engineer who is a specialist in delivering tunnelling projects with a focus on structures, inner linings, TBM and excavation within metro and transportation for one of the largest projects in the USA.

Responsibilities:

The multibillion dollar project scope will include: a new bridge-tunnel crossing, replacement of existing marine approach bridges, the addition of a third lane on 1-64 in each direction, and new bridge-tunnel complex that will accommodate 4 lanes of traffic for a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water and is expected to conclude in 2025.

• Supports the Tunnel Structure Task Force and organises the work to deliver on time and quality.
• Manages the design deliverables, both for time and quality.
• Controls the quantity growth and design changes.
• Ensures design discipline integration.
• Collaborates with construction to ensure that all the temporary works are in place that would be required, and coordinates with Senior Methods Manager regarding the detailed design.
• Prepares and/or reviews the Technical Specifications of any procurement package linked to its area of work.
• Performs constructability Reviews

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution and 5+ years of experience in tunnel engineering
• Previous experience in tunnel structures and lining
• TBM Tunnel Experience
• Good communication proven knowledge of temporary works construction practices and constructability innovation techniques.
• Proven success with creative, innovative and optimization strategies for construction challenges.
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Proven interpersonal skills used to defend, clarify and explain construction strategies and designs for all levels across the project.
• Clear, concise and efficient technical writing skills used in calculation packages.
• Expert skill at self-prioritization and time-management.
• Proven knowledge of AutoCAD, RISA, LARSA and MathCAD.
