The Company

Our client is an up and coming contractor offering specialist Design and Build services to the UK Rail industry. They have grown to become an established player in the UK Rail and construction sector, providing specialist design and Contactor services. About the Job

This is an outstanding opportunity for Senior Project Manager to demonstrate your skills and capabilities of overseeing a portfolio of projects in a competitive region. You will be working in a busy operational ‘over ground’ station environment, you will carry out all civil engineering works including the construction of new canopy bases, two new lift shafts and all other ancillary civil engineering works. The key challenge to the project is the heavy public interface as the station will be operational during the scheme. There is also an abundance of Temporary works involved including: Shuttering, formwork, excavation, hoardings and a double reinforced lift shaft.

The Ideal candidate

This is a Senior Project Manager position where you will report into the Director but will assume full operational responsibility for the project. You will also work in collaboration with the (Client) Project Manager on buildability issues and will also oversee Engineering works from the Site Engineers. You will be responsible for inspection of all work packages plans, Method statements, risk assessments and run the programme in collaboration with the Principle contractor. You will also have zero tolerance towards Health and safety and be the number one representative on site for the business.

The Requirements

You MUST be prepared to be hands on and “Operational”- You can’t be an PM who sits behind a desk. You will use your engineering knowledge to assist with the Temporary works aspect which is of importance on this scheme. Key will be the Man Management of the site teams, providing guidance to the Construction Manager dependant on their experience and leadership to the project teams.

It’s essential, you will be educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant Civil Engineering discipline (Need to be Technically minded) IDEALLY will have a TWC ticket, or at least an appreciation of Temporary Works. Should be able to demonstrate the appropriate engineering acumen through your career achievements to date and progression through technical engineering positions (Site Engineer/Agent/PM) rather than the alternative Site Management/Supervision route.

Remuneration

Circa £70,000 – £78,000 per annum and you will also be rewarded with an extensive benefits package including a car/car allowance, 26 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
