Role Summary: The Senior Project Manager will manage project or portfolios of infrastructure work of up to £500m in value, covering all project management activities within the APM Book of Knowledge.
Team dimensions: Reports to Programme Manager or Delivery Director

The company is now scaling up significantly as it has taken on delegations and obligations relating to the delivery of the Western Section and Central Sections of the scheme, which will provide both innovative upgrades to existing track and to design then construct new infrastructure.

Key accountabilities:
• Lead, plan and manage major project to ensure inspirational delivery of intended EWR outcomes
Day to day you’ll:
• Provide leadership and direction of project teams in achieving EWR objectives.
• Lead the establishment of project teams, oversee their recruitment and provide motivational leadership, energy and role model behaviours
• Have responsibility for the delivery of projects and sub-projects in the Central Section to meet the needs of EWR’s customers
• Prepare and manage project programmes, costs and risks
• Analyse all project data, devising and deploying resources to improve delivery

Knowledge:
• Wide knowledge of all project management activities within the APM Book of Knowledge
• A deep understanding of risk control, evaluation methodologies, including use of Monte Carlo analysis
Experience:
• Broad experience of working on project management for a complex, safety focussed and regulated organisation with multiple complex interfaces, and delivering to time budget and quality
• Significant experience of demonstrable personal responsibility for managing projects of between £10-£200m value
• Significant experience of demonstrable personal responsibility for managing project managers
