Community Relations Officer
Stratford
Purpose of the Job
To provide a community relations service that keeps local stakeholders informed and develops and maintains relationships with local stakeholders, particularly those directly affected by the construction and reduces risk to programme delivery.
Principal Accountabilities
- Establish and maintain an outstanding reputation among key audience.
- Support the Community Relations Manager (CRM) to deliver a planned programme of local authority engagement.
- Support the overall Community Relations team programme and deputise for the Community Relations Manager when required.
- Where appropriate monitor the return from temporary rehousing, managing individual expectations and following up on specific issues and concerns.
- Lead the day-to-day support for, and supervision of, contractor's community relations representatives (CRRs).
- Ensure the reporting of community relations activities and issues to internal fora and external fora (e.g. Planning Forum) is done in a timely and effective manner and ensure clear records are kept of contacts and actions taken.
- Manage initial communication relating to the noise and vibration mitigation schemes in relation to the relevant contracts.
- Support the Community Relations Manager to ensure delivery teams, including contractors, are fully aware of undertakings and assurances and assist in reviewing compliance plans, monitoring adherence to them, assisting in the investigation of breaches and the development of remedial action plans.

Person Specification
- Excellent organisational skills, including ability to manage high level of multi-tasking
- Excellent written and spoken communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly in handling difficult situations tactfully.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills
- High level of Self-confidence to work with stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of the organisation and structure of the railway industry and/or local and central government
- Experience of delivering relevant consultation or community relations activities.
- Willing and able to work flexible hours to accommodate evening meetings as required.
