JOB TITLE: Industrial Relations Manager
LOCATION: London
SALARY: £65k Per Annum
THE CLIENT
My client is one of the largest private transport infrastructure operator in the world in terms of capital invested with a workforce of approximately 96,000 employees and a presence in over 15 countries, with over 60 years' experience since it was founded.
THE ROLE
My client is currently recruiting for an Industrial Relations Manager to effectively manage and support delivery of agreed IR and HR strategy on the project.
Key accountabilities
- Minimise number and impact of any industrial action
- To support delivery of agreed IR strategy with a primary focus on advancing employees welfare and promoting effective employee engagement
- Manage relationships and engagement with key client contacts
- Manage relationships and engagement with suppliers
- Manage relationships and engagement with Trade Unions and where necessary meet with Trade Unions re: grievances at project level
- Manage client reporting on IR matters in a timely and accurate manner
- Manage IR audit regime in line with client requirements and ensure any non-compliance of supply chain is identified and resolved in a timely fashion
- Reviewing all tender documentation and advising of IR requirements prior to subcontractor engagement on site
- Working with project teams to identify and manage performance / site issues and ensure best practice
- Advising subcontractors on employee relations issues and statutory employment requirements
- Updating of company policies and procedures where required
- Liaise and support Project Directors with recruitment requirements
- To ensure effective subcontractor / supply chain engagement via regular forums
- To advise / manage the projects day to day HR issues
- To effectively manage and support Project Support roles on the various major projects
ABOUT YOU
- HR degree or equivalent
- Good knowledge of UK employment legislation
- Self-motivation, ability to independently prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication, negotiating and influencing skills
- Ability to interact at all levels
- Able to develop practical and pragmatic solutions
