What is the purpose of this role?
Support the OLE engineering activities for allocated projects to facilitate conformance to the contract specification, all relevant standards and processes, and delivery to programme timescales.
This person will significantly contribute towards all assurance activities relating to OLE engineering for the Track and Electrification team on the TRU West Alliance.

What will this role involve?
· Manage the OLE engineering assurance activity on allocated projects; communication and consultation with other functions over changes (design, install and test). Including interfaces with other disciplines as required.
· Advise the Project Manager and CRE of assurance and compliance issues, and provide engineering review of the construction quality assurance issues when concerns arise.
· Promote awareness of assurance in the project team, including sub-contractors, and pro-actively identify to resource owners additional training requirements and development opportunities.
· Dependent on the process for material allocation ensure engineers and construction teams are correctly ordering to meet the project programme and that an up to date material schedule is maintained for the project. Full suite of certificate of conformities and other manufacturer warranties are retained for the final health and safety file.
· Produce and implement an ongoing inspection and surveillance regime consistent with company standards and project requirements.
· Provide enough site support to the project team (Project Manager, CRE, site supervisors, resource providers and sub-contractors) throughout the works to ensure that critical assurance decisions can be made in a timely manner and that issues arising can be dealt with to ensure compliance with a minimum of re-work.
· To support the application critical engineering assurance processes, such as TSI, CDM, CSM, within the OLE engineering team.
· To assist the team in ensuring that critical project engineering documentation (such as the WPP, TB’s, Permits, etc.) are completed to a high quality and timely manner.
· To actively participate in, and engage with, external (e.g. ORR, Client) and internal (e.g. Amey and TRU West) audits.
· The role is based in an office / site office environment. It is a requirement of the role to attend site on a regular basis (including night-time).
· Leading and managing all OLE engineering assurance activities for their team
· Co-operating with the other engineering teams and disciplines
· Attendance to routine engineering and assurance meetings / functions (possibly including IDC’s, IDR’s and other design interfaces) and generally to ensure close liaison with the client assurance teams.
What are we looking for?
· Relevant HND / HNC academic qualifications (or equivalent) and appropriate (5 to 10 years) practical experience and technical expertise (particularly in relation to assurance activities) in the OLE discipline
· Satisfy requirements of PTS medical.

· PTS Working Near or Adjacent to AC Lines
· Responsible manager briefing
· IOSH safety qualification (or equivalent)
· The right attitude to safety, engineering compliance, and collaborative behaviour.
· This post requires an energetic, self-managed individual who can lead a team and has the technical knowledge to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and requirements.
· OLE construction experience on large projects
· Knowledge and experience of planning and implementing OLE works in a wide range of circumstances and environments
· Computer literate
· Knowledge and understanding of Network Rail OLE standards
· Valid UK driving license
