Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Rail team to work in Newport on the Great Western Electrification Project

The Quality Assurance Engineer assists the Quality Assurance Manager in ensuring compliance with all the Quality Assurance Processes in use on the Project.

Specific duties include:

• Providing day to day support and advice day to day support and advice on quality and health and safety matters to all persons involved with the project
• Ensuring that all accidents and dangerous occurrences are recorded and fully investigated in accordance with the BBR procedures, NR requirements and legislation
• Providing advice and guidance on the application of current and impending statutory requirements, industry guidance and Railway Group / NR Company Standards to the Project Team
• Ensuring all occupational health and safety assessments are undertaken, for example, noise, Hand Arm Vibration (HAV) and manual handling assessments

You will:

• Have previous experience in a similar role
• Have an extensive Engineering background
• Ideally, hold a Engineering related degree/qualification
• Have experience of auditing and witnessing electrical testing
• Ideally you will have experience of working on a rail/OLE project previously
