PROJECT:
In this role you will be working on the 4LM project, a circa £760m scheme with London Underground to upgrade systems on the District, Hammersmith & City, Circle and Metropolitan lines which will allow LU to reduce journey times, increase numbers of trains per hour and increase the number of passengers carried on the network . This is currently the biggest urban rail signalling programme worldwide and is an exciting and complex challenge to deliver.
ROLE SUMMARY:
The Product Quality Engineers role is to provide professional and effective project Quality support in order for Thales to meet customer, stakeholder and other relevant requirements. Reporting to the Services Quality Manager and interacting with the functional Quality team as well as all the project functional teams to support project delivery in a planned and effective manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Services Quality Manager designate for Client meetings, Quality Review Meetings, Product Delivery Meetings, Senior Management Team Meetings, CAM reviews Product Performance Review and line management of QA Team
2. Responsible for the facilitation of Product root cause analysis and investigation work, ensuring that corrective and preventative actions are identified with the appropriate sponsor / owner.
3. Ensure that quality controls and assurance inspections are undertaken across the project.
4. Production-surveillance audit planning and co-ordination. Conducting non-conformance reviews (surveillance output plus any other identification of NCR), providing Head of Product Sales Delivery with metrics and ensuring they are dealt with in a timely manner.
5. As a result of production surveillance incl. hardware inspections generate reports on performance with regards to project Quality including trends, risk and other concerns to ensure the issues are addressed.
6. Where possible capture and report Cost of Non-Quality.
7. Monitor and support adherence to Chorus 2 process and procedures, providing guidance and assistance when required.
8. Support Services Quality Manager to deliver the project system audit schedule working with the project leads to follow up corrective and preventative actions.
9. Support local and corporate business Improvement initiatives and programs.
10. Conducting product milestone lessons learned workshops periodically.
11. To provide the quality support and interface between Thales subcontractors and the product team.
12. Maintain stakeholder engagement internally, suppliers and client.
13. Supplier Quality performance monitoring and management, liaising with Supplier Quality Manager to highlight performance issues.
This is a mentoring role within Thales so please ensure you are interested in mentoring more junior members of the team.
