Purpose of the Job
Duties & Responsibilities
* Provide surveillance input into Audit & Surveillance Schedule which is a live document
* Carry out site surveillances in accordance with Audit & Surveillance schedule against the requirements of accepted ITPs, MCRs, national and project specifications and relevant drawings
* Spend at least 3 hours a day on site inspecting and monitoring site works
* Liaise with Package Managers and Engineers on the site issues and report to Quality Manager on a daily basis
* Take ownership of the Certification Breakdown Structure
* Ensure Package Listings are progressively completed
* Chair the certification meetings with the clients and Quality Manager
* Be responsible to Quality Manager on managing certification
* Carry out any Quality related tasks as instructed by the Quality Manager
* Be independent of the construction team so that the works can be monitored in a professional manner
Competence
* All round site engineering experience in a variety of civils, structural steel and M&E works
* Experience in Quality is not essential, as training and supervision will be available
* Take ownership of the collation and review of assurance packs for site works. Review the status of the packages and provide feedback to the Quality manager.
* Support the quality manager in the development and implementation of site audits/surveillances of quality management systems in use on site.
* Support the Quality Manager in weekly reporting of the status of assurance packs, quality issues, and quality planning
* Support the delivery team in the identification of NCR's, proposals of remedial actions, and timely close out of NCR's.
* Support the delivery team in the review and approval of quality documentation for the Works.
* Take an active role in the quality readiness reviews for the packages of work.
* Support package managers in understanding the quality requirements for their respective packages, identifying relevant contract and industry standards
* Understand the Contract requirements, including Works Information and relevant contract/company policies and processes, and inspect to ensure that these are adhered to on site.
