Quality Manager in Derby, Derbyshire, United Kingdom
Key Accountabilities:
* Establish and maintain a good, professional and pro-active working relationship with Suppliers and other LU and TfL colleagues, to ensure delivery of intended LU business benefits.
* Ensure that a document control procedure is adopted to approve, review and update all changes to critical documents within the scope of the QMS.
* Ensure that an internal audit programme is adopted to verify that the QMS conforms to planned arrangements, QMS arrangements and is effectively implemented and maintained. Ensure that appropriate action is taken when this is not the case.
* Ensure that records are established and maintained to provide evidence that the QMS is being followed and that there is a system in place for the identification, storage, protection, retrieval, retention time and disposition of such records.
* Analyse data on the effectiveness of the QMS and evaluate where continual improvements of the QMS can be made. This shall include data generated as a result of monitoring and measurement and from other relevant sources.
* Producing dashboard KPI's, displaying implementation status of processes and improvements.
* Auditing materials with relevant FAI's provided by suppliers to assure quality is incorporated during ATC fitment.
* Working together with project leaders to discuss solutions to quality issues
* Liaising with suppliers to resolve NCRs,
* Ensure that LU Rules and Standards are incompliance with Quality certification
* Ensure that a Quality inspection is carried out as and when required throughout the day.
Knowledge:
* An understanding of TfL project and programme quality methodologies and processes
* Have gained a reputation in understanding and implementing site and other quality management frameworks, processes, tools and techniques across a wide range of projects and programmes.
* Degree or equivalent qualification / experience working in Quality environment
* Awareness of safety issues in an operating railway environment is desirable.
Skills:
* Ability to analyse complex data, draw conclusions, produce reports and make recommendations to the LU Project manager.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally.
* Ability to build effective working relationships, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally.
* Good working knowledge of office based computer packages, e.g. MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Experience:
* Technical quantitative role or equivalent working experience
* Some experience preferably in a transport environment
* Working effectively on own or as part of team, making decisions where necessary
* Developing and maintaining customer relationships, with a particular focus on managing expectations and ensuring customer satisfaction
