Rolling Stock Assurance Delivery Manager in London, London, United Kingdom
We are currently seeking a Rolling Stock Assurance Delivery Manager to join the heart of the UK’s largest rail infrastructure project, Crossrail.
As the Rolling Stock Engineer you’ll manage and support the delivery and acceptance of technical assurance submissions in order to demonstrate compliance of the Crossrail rolling stock with defined regulations, standards and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the achievement of compliance of the Rolling Stock for Stage 3 with:
o Sponsor, Crossrail Project Functional Requirements (CPFR) and Operating Concept requirements;
o Assurance requirements and relevant standards and legislation;
by application of a Technical Assurance process complementing the Crossrail Technical Assurance Strategy.
- To support delivery of Rolling Stock assurance activities in respect of achieving the Earliest Opening Programme (EOP) for passenger service, for stages 2 and 3 and subsequently stages 4 and 5.
- Co-ordinate the assurance related interfaces of the Rolling Stock with all other Crossrail disciplines and 3rd parties, including Infrastructure Managers and the Crossrail train operating company - MTRC.
- Support the identification and management of Rolling Stock assurance and overall railway systems assurance risks.
- Develop testing strategies for the integration of the Rolling Stock with the Central Section and Network Rail infrastructure.
- Create appropriate assurance progress trackers, dashboards and visual-reporting metrics:
o for reporting the status of assurance to senior management;
o for driving the progress of assurance deliverables from the supply chain and
Interfacing teams.
- Develop and implement processes to demonstrate assurance across system interface boundaries.
About You:
- Experience of the application and use of the Common Safety Method for Risk Evaluation and Assessment (CSM RA).
- Experience of undertaking assurance / compliance activities within the UK rail industry.
- Awareness of Interoperability Regulations, Railway Group Standards and other laws and standards applicable to rolling stock and infrastructure interfaces.
- Project management experience including knowledge of schedule management, risk/issue management, approvals & acceptance, quality, safety matters, programme and reporting.
- Experience of rolling stock engineering within the railway operating or manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with working in a major railway project environment.
- Educated to Degree level in a mechanical, electrical discipline or equivalent level of practical experience.
- Membership of a professional engineering institution holding Chartered status.
- A demonstrably strong ‘delivery’ focus, able to multitask and manage conflicting priorities, used to working under pressure and to challenging deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders and deal with competing interests in an inclusive and pragmatic manner.
Location: Old Oak Common Depot
Rate: Negotiable (role falls inside IR35 and so any successful candidate will have to operate via an umbrella solution)
Duration: 18 Months
