JOB TITLE Safety Assurance Engineer (Radio)

We are currently seeking Safety Assurance Engineer for C660 Comms and Control Systems (allocated systems are subset of CCTV/DOO-CCTV, CIS, CMS, CDN/OFN, Radio (ACRL, GSM-R, LFEPA, PCR), PA/VA, SMS, TEL)

Responsible for the safety assurance of safety requirements specified for the allocated systems. Supporting the Lead Safety Engineer for the allocated systems (and hence C660 Engineering Safety Manager) in assuring that all reasonably foreseeable hazards arising from the allocated systems are controlled an acceptable level of risk (to at least tolerable and ALARP) and in accordance with applicable safety regulations.

Responsible for the assessment (including audits of reviews by others where appropriate) of evidence to demonstrate satisfactory implementation of C660 safety measures relating to the allocated systems across Crossrail sites as allocated by the Lead Safety Engineer for those allocated systems. Maintaining accurate records of assessment; highlighting (to the Lead Safety Engineer) incomplete safety measures, evidence deficiencies and/or changes which have the potential to affect risk acceptance or where additional or alternative safety measures may be necessary.

Supporting the Lead Safety Engineer safety impact assessments relating to the allocated systems.

Review of documents and reports produced by other members of the C660 ESM Team and assisting the C660 Engineering Safety Manager in the maintenance and update of project-wide documents (including System Definition and associated addendums).

Key Responsibilities

·Preparation and update of Safety Requirements Evidence Matrices and Minimum Safety Requirement Evidence records as appropriate to the allocated systems and locations

·Assessment of satisfactory completion of safety requirements for the allocated systems and locations

·Assisting the Lead Safety Engineer in updating Engineering Safety Justifications for the allocated systems
