Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Experts are delighted to be supporting one of our clients - a recognised train operator in London to recruit for a Safety Assurance Manager to lead the Company's efforts for maintaining the Company's ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 accreditation.
The Opportunity
Our client is is one of the leading providers of passenger transport in the UK alone, based in central London, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a health and safety conscious individual to join their Safety team in managing the process for the development, review and update of the health and safety elements of the Company's safety management system.
You will be in a position to influence and make necessary and significant changes within an operational role. Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a risk-based company safety, quality and environmental Audit and Compliance Plan to provide assurance that the company is complying with its safety, quality and environment management systems, applicable legislation and industry standards.
- Assist the Head of Safety, Environment, Quality and Wellbeing in the preparation of changes to the Company's Safety Certificate and Safety Authorisation Applications.
- Develop, update and review the health and safety components of the Company's safety management system and the Company's quality and environment management systems.
- Provide guidance and support to the directors and line managers concerning delivery of the company's obligations for health and safety, quality and environment management.
- Support directors and line managers in achieving and maintaining the Company's ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditation and in demonstrating continuous improvement.
- Review change proposals, system definitions and safety management of change submissions where requested by the Head of Safety, Quality and Environment.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced safety professional ideally within the construction industry, who has demonstrable experience within the following ISOs <phone number removed> and 18001.
You will be an organised individual who can work methodically with excellent attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills, communicating effectively at all levels. Due to the importance of maintaining these accreditations you will be working closely within a specialist team, so having a good team ethic, as well and accommodating your communication to different business areas, is essential to developing strong working relationships.
Essentials
- Experience of compiling management system standards and procedures
- Good understanding of health and safety in the workplace
- Good understanding of quality and environmental management systems
Desirables
- NEBOSH Diploma (desirable)
- CMIOSH - or working towards
- Experience of railway operations and safety (desirable)
