Senior Systems Engineer (Assurance) / Rail / £400-550/day / West Midlands

I am currently working with a renowned and global engineering company who are currently looking for a Senior Systems Engineer within the Rail Sector to start ASAP on a contract basis (6 months rolling) paying up to £550/day based in the West Midlands.

You will use your rail experience to provide support across our client’s teams (but primarily HS2), on a range of rail system and system engineering issues, including but not limited to: leading the requirements management and assurance, system modelling and detailed design, hazard analysis and dependability analysis.

Duties –

• System Engineering plan production support
• Implementation of standard Systems Engineering processes e.g. interface management, requirements management, systems integration, verification and validation, engineering safety, EMC and RAMS.
• Providing feasibility support and concept and design support on rail projects.
• Advising teams regarding System Engineering processes.
• Appropriate budgetary and planning responsibility on activities for which you are responsible.
• System and software development support.
• Supporting the preparation of bids and tenders in order to help win work.

Key skills needed –

• ·Lead in the production of design documentation in Technical Assurance

  ·Support system engineering activities for the delivery of the Technical assurance products on the project

  ·Lead the planning and coaching teams of project teams to understand the need for and deliver the evidence for requirement management, verification and validation, and assurance evidence

  ·Lead the production of Technical Assurance plans and their typical processes: requirements management, systems acceptance, interface management, systems integration, assurance and RAMS

  ·Actively guide and support teams in their adherence to those Technical Assurance processes

  ·Assist in the development of Technical Assurance models

  ·Work under mentorship and supervision of more senior staff
