We are currently seeking a Safety Engineer for C660 Elementary Systems Software (allocated systems).
Responsible for execution of tasks (including preparation and maintenance of associated reports) defined in the C660 System Safety Plan as applicable to the allocated systems. Supporting the C660 Engineering Safety Manager in ensuring that all reasonably foreseeable hazards relating to C660 Communications and Control Systems have been identified and are controlled an acceptable level of risk (to at least tolerable and ALARP) and in accordance with applicable safety regulations.
Responsible for the assessment (including audits of reviews by others where appropriate) of evidence of satisfactory:
- Definition and execution of software processes in accordance with the software safety plan (including in C660 System Safety Plan) and applicable software standards cited therein
- Implementation of C660 software safety requirements (including resolution of defect reports and remedial actions);
Maintaining accurate records of assessment and rationale for compliance; highlighting (to the C660 Safety Manager) non-compliance with the C660 software safety plan (and resultant Software Quality Plan), potential software safety deficiencies, software evidence deficiencies and/or changes which have the potential to affect risk acceptance or where additional or alternative safety measures may be necessary.
Coordination with the C660 software development and testing teams to ensure there is an understanding of, and provision of necessary evidence required to support software safety assessment activities.
Review of documents and reports produced by other members of the C660 ESM Team and assisting the C660 Engineering Safety Manager in the maintenance and update of project-wide documents (including System Definition and associated addendums).
Supporting the C660 Engineering Safety Manager activities relating to independent safety assessment (ISA, ISSA and AsBo as applicable).
Supporting the C660 Engineering Safety Manager safety impact assessments relating to the allocated systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Software development process (Software QA Plan update) assessment report, software development technical report and software V&V assessment report
- Assessment of satisfactory completion of safety requirements for the allocated systems
- Contribution of software content for Engineering Safety Justifications for all C660 Elementary Systems
